Three Grammar Rules You Can
(And Should) Break
It’s perfectly all right to start your sentences with “and” or “but.” It’s a great way to grab attention and emphasize a point. But, as in all things, take it in moderation.
#2 was drilled into me as a student, especially in primary school despite the fact the words ‘and’ and ‘but’ were the only sentence-starters we young kids could wrap our small heads around. AND now I’m going to rebel, so take that year two teacher who’s name fails me!
